Back pain is one of the most common pains. Everyone will go through the experience of having at least one back pain in their life. This ailment is one of the main causes of work absenteeism . Studies show that at least once in their lives, 80-90% of the world’s population will have to deal with low back pain, common between 20 and 50 years of age.
Back pain can range from a minor constant ache to a sudden stab of sharp pain that makes movement difficult. It can appear quickly after a fall or when lifting a very heavy object or increase progressively.
Types of Back Pain
Types of back pain include:
- low back pain It is the most common and affects the area between the base of the ribs and the beginning of the thigh.
- Back pain. It is also very common and affects the area between the base of the neck and the floating ribs.
- Neck pain. It is pain in the cervical region. It is not such a common disorder, although it does cause considerable discomfort and pain.
Back pain manifests itself in two ways: acute pain that comes on suddenly and usually lasts less than six weeks, and chronic pain that can last more than three months. Chronic pain is less common in low back pain, back pain and neck pain.
